Generate AI DM message variants in Zorcha

How to use AI to generate 3 Instagram DM message variants inside Zorcha automations.

Use AI DM variants when you want Zorcha to quickly write different versions of the same Instagram DM message. This helps you send more natural message variations without writing every version from scratch.

AI DM variants work inside the DM Variations modal for Instagram automations. Zorcha uses your existing DM message as the starting point, then generates 3 new DM messages that keep the same meaning and call to action.

Cost: Each AI generation uses 1,500 AI credits.

When to use this

Use this feature when you already know what the DM should say, but want a few polished alternatives for rotation.

Good examples:

  • You want 3 different ways to send a free guide.

  • You want each subscriber to receive a slightly different message style.

  • You want your automation to feel less repetitive.

  • You want short, clear DM copy that still matches your original message.

If you are new to message variations, start with How to A/B Test Instagram DM Messages with Variations in Zorcha.

Before you start

Make sure you have:

  • An Instagram automation with a Send a DM step.

  • At least one non-empty DM message written in the Send a DM block.

  • Enough AI credits available in your workspace.

If you need help creating the automation first, see Setting up Comment to DM.

How to generate AI DM variants

  1. Open your Instagram automation in Zorcha.

  2. Go to the Send a DM step.

  3. Write at least one final DM message. This message is used as the AI's starting point.

  4. Click Variations.

  5. In the DM Variations modal, click Generate 3 DM messages using AI.

  6. Review the generated messages.

  7. Edit any message if needed.

  8. Click Done to save the variants back into your automation.

What the AI uses

Zorcha uses the message you already wrote as the main reference. It may also use the automation context, such as the post or reel caption and the type of content attached to the DM.

The generated variants are designed to:

  • Keep the same meaning as your original DM.

  • Keep the same call to action.

  • Avoid inventing new promises or unsupported details.

  • Stay short and natural for Instagram DMs.

If your DM includes links, images, PDFs, or other attached content, the AI treats those as part of the DM experience and avoids over-explaining the attachment.

AI credits and access

Generating AI DM variants costs 1,500 AI credits. If your workspace does not have enough credits, Zorcha will show a message and prompt you to buy more AI credits.

To learn more about credits, see What Are AI Credits and How to Buy More in Zorcha.

Tips for better results

  • Start with a clear DM message before generating.

  • Keep the original message close to what you actually want to send.

  • Review every generated variant before going live.

  • Edit anything that sounds too formal, too long, or not like your brand.

  • Use variations for wording differences, not for completely different offers.

How this works with other DM features

AI DM variants are for writing message text. They do not replace your DM formats, links, files, media, or multi-message setup.

Troubleshooting

The AI button is disabled.
Add at least one non-empty DM message in the Send a DM step first. Zorcha needs an existing message before it can generate variants.

I see a not enough AI credits message.
Your workspace does not have enough AI credits for the generation. Buy more AI credits, then try again.

The generated messages are not quite right.
Edit the generated variants before saving. The AI is meant to help with first drafts, but you should still review the final messages before publishing the automation.
