Fix Instagram DMs not sending (while comments work)

If automations are replying to Instagram comments but direct messages aren’t being sent, don’t worry — this is a common and easy fix.

If your Zorcha automation is successfully sending comment replies but DMs aren't going through, you’re in the right place.

This simply means Instagram hasn’t allowed third-party tools to access your DMs yet.

Steps to Fix

  1. Open Instagram → Click ☰ Settings
    ​

  2. Click "Message and story replies" under "How others interact with you"
    ​

  3. Click "Message Requests" under "How people can reach you"
    ​

  4. Enable "Allow access to messages" under "Connected tools"
    ​

This setting allows Zorcha to send DMs on your behalf while staying fully compliant with Instagram’s API policies.
