See where buyers come from: traffic sources and UTM links

Read the Session by traffic card and tag your bio, Story and DM links with utm_source so each shows up as its own source.

You share your product in your bio, Stories and DM automations. The Session by traffic card shows which sources bring product-page sessions. It measures traffic, not revenue or the number of buyers from each source.

Find the traffic card

  1. Open Products and click your product.

  2. On Overview, pick your date range.

  3. Find Session by traffic. Each source gets a tile with its session count, and the bar underneath shows each one's share.

Know how sources are named

Zorcha names each visit's source in this order:

  1. The utm_source value in the link, if there is one.

  2. Otherwise, the web address of the site that sent the visitor.

  3. Otherwise, Direct.

Underscores and hyphens become spaces and each word gets a capital, so utm_source=instagram_bio shows as Instagram Bio. If that visitor goes on to checkout and pays, those steps are credited to the same source.

Without a tag, a visit from Instagram shows as whatever web address the app passes on, or as Direct if it passes none. Tagging is the only way to separate your bio from your Stories and DMs.

Tag each link you share

  1. Copy your product link from Products with Copy Link.

  2. Add ?utm_source= and a source name to the copied public product URL. If it already contains a question mark, append &utm_source= instead.

Bio: https://zorcha.link/yourname/products/meal-plan?utm_source=instagram_bio

Story: https://zorcha.link/yourname/products/meal-plan?utm_source=story

DM: https://zorcha.link/yourname/products/meal-plan?utm_source=dm

These are example URLs. Use your own copied product link, not the example store or product name.

  1. Paste each version only in its own place. For a comment-to-DM automation, put the dm version in the message it sends.

Stick to lowercase and underscores so each place always gets exactly the same name.

Zorcha also saves utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term and utm_content with each visit; the card groups by utm_source only.

Read the result

After a week, set the range to Last 7 days. If Dm (your dm tag) shows 180 sessions and Instagram Bio 40, your automation is sending most of your traffic.
