Start a Flow Builder automation from a template

Pick a ready-made Flow Builder template, add your links and go live, with what to do when a template needs an upgrade.

You want a comment-to-DM flow with a button, a follow check, or an email question, but building it step by step on a blank canvas takes a while. Flow Builder templates give you the whole flow ready-made. You pick one, add your own links, and go live.

Templates are part of Flow Builder, which is included from the Pro plan, and work on Instagram workspaces.

Step 1: Open the templates

  • Already using Zorcha: open Automations in the sidebar and click New Automation.

  • New to Zorcha: finish sign-up and connect your Instagram account first, then open Automations and click New Automation.

  • On the Free plan: the Flow Builder card opens the upgrade options instead. Flow Builder starts on Pro.

  • In a Facebook Page workspace: Flow Builder opens a blank canvas. Templates are for Instagram workspaces.

In the window that opens, click the Flow Builder card at the top.

Step 2: Pick a template

You'll see Start from scratch and every ready-made template. Each card shows what starts the flow (Comments, Story replies or DMs) and what it does.

To narrow the list, pick a goal on the left: Get more followers or Drive more clicks.

Step 3: Name your automation

Type a name you'll recognize later, for example "Free guide link", then click Create Automation.

Step 4: Check the trigger

The editor opens with the whole flow already connected and the trigger settings on the right. Every step has a Note above it that explains what it does. Notes are only for you; they're never sent.

In the trigger settings, check:

  • Select a Post or Reel: the flow runs on every post and reel until you pick specific ones.

  • Setup Keywords: the word people comment or send, for example LINK. Change it if another automation already uses that word.

Step 5: Add your links

Most templates have link buttons, such as Open the link, that are empty until you add your own link.

  1. Click the Send a DM step that has the button.

  2. Click the pencil next to the button.

  1. Paste your link in Enter Link and click Save Link.

Repeat this for every link button in the flow. Click any Send a DM step to change its wording as well.

Using Save comment leads to Google Sheets? Click the Add row to Google Sheets step, click Connect Google, then choose your spreadsheet and sheet. Until you do, Go Live stops with Connect a Google account for this step.

Step 6: Go live

Click Go Live. When the automation is running, you'll see Live at the top of the editor.

If you see Please fix errors before going live, a step still needs something, usually a link. Zorcha opens that step for you: add the link, then click Go Live again.

To test it, use a different Instagram account to comment the keyword on your post (or send it in a DM for DM templates) and wait a few seconds.

If a template says Upgrade

A card that shows Requires: and Upgrade uses a feature your plan doesn't include. The card names the feature. For example, on Pro, Save comment leads to Google Sheets shows Requires: Google Sheets, because Google Sheets is included in Ultimate and Business.

Click the card. Zorcha opens the upgrade window with the plan that unlocks that template already selected, here Ultimate. After upgrading, open the templates again and the card is ready to use.

If the templates don't load

If you see Couldn't load templates, click Try again. Start from scratch still works in the meantime.
