A Story can invite people to start a conversation: reply with a word to ask for a resource or more information. Use the Story reply trigger to connect that message to your flow.
Choose the Story and reply word
Open the trigger and choose Replies to a Story.
Choose Any story or select the specific available Story for this campaign.
Under Setup Keywords, add the word from the Story's call to action.
Add Send a DM with the promised reply.
Connect the path and run Validate.
For example, a Story could ask people to reply menu. The response should lead to that menu, rather than a generic message unrelated to the Story.
Test a message reply, not a view
When ready, activate the automation and reply to the selected Story from another Instagram account. Check the received DM and its link. Try a nonmatching reply as well.
Viewing a Story, voting in a poll, and typing a message reply are different interactions. A view or poll vote doesn't verify this trigger.
Continue the conversation
Use Collect Info on an eligible path if you need an answer before continuing. Keep the question relevant to what the person requested.
