You don't always need your entire contact list. A segment helps you return to a useful group, such as people who submitted a form or contacts whose email address you've collected, without rebuilding the same filters each time.
Choose what the contacts should have in common
Open Audience and use Filter. Choose an engagement, such as Sent a message, Commented, or Submitted a form, or a contact property such as Email or Source Automation.
Complete the condition's options, including its value or time range where offered. For an email list, for example, choose Email and the condition that checks whether a value is present.
Look at the matching contacts before saving. A filter works with the information stored in Zorcha; it can't fill in an email address that hasn't been collected.
Save the group as a segment
Once the conditions are right, click Create Segment.
In New Segment, enter a name that describes the group, such as Contacts with email.
Click Create Segment to save it.
Use the segment selector to return to the saved group later. Choose All when you want to leave that segment.
If the naming dialog opens while you add your first condition, complete the name there and check the resulting saved filters.
Change a saved segment
Open the segment and adjust its conditions. Review the matching contacts, then use Update Segment to save the change.
A saved segment stores the filtering rule, so check its current results before using it for a new campaign. To download the selected group, follow the audience export guide.
