People who comment for your free guide are exactly the people you want on your email list. Collect Email DM asks for the address inside the conversation, saves it to the contact, then sends the link.
This is the instant-editor option. For Flow Builder, where you can also ask for phone, name and more, see Collect info in a Flow Builder DM.
How it works
The person triggers your automation (comment, Story reply or DM).
If Opening Message is on, they tap the opening button first. If it is off, the email request is the first message.
Zorcha sends your Collect Email DM text and waits for a reply.
A reply that looks like an email address is saved to the contact, and your main DM with the link is sent.
A reply that is not an email gets the request again, until they send one.
If Zorcha already has this person's email from an earlier automation, the request is skipped and the main DM goes out straight away.
Before you switch it on
Collect Email is included from the Pro plan. On Free you will see the Pro badge on the option.
Set it up
Open the instant automation (DM from Comments, DM from Stories or Respond to all DMs) and scroll to Advanced Automations.
Switch on Collect Email DM.
Edit the message. Say why you are asking and what they get, for example Drop your email here and I will send the guide straight over.
Save and go live.
Where the emails end up
Open Audience and filter by Email to see contacts with an address, or export the list. See Filter and segment contacts in Audience. Collecting an email adds it to your Zorcha contact; it does not subscribe anyone to an outside mailing list on its own.
Test it
From another account, trigger the automation and reply with a real-looking address. Check the link DM follows and the address shows on the contact in Audience. Then trigger it again from the same account: this time the email request should be skipped.
