Fix automation not working on a specific post/reel

When automations work everywhere except a single post or reel

Updated over 2 months ago

Instagram DM automations are designed to work consistently across your posts and reels. However, in some cases, you may notice that an automation runs perfectly on most of your content but fails to trigger on a specific post or reel—even when everything appears to be set up correctly.

What’s going on?

If your automations work on all posts and reels except one, the content is likely age-restricted by Instagram.

Age-restricted posts may still appear normal when viewed from a logged-in (18+) accounts. However, when viewed in incognito mode or while logged out, Instagram may require age verification.

Instagram blocks third-party tools (including Zorcha) from sending automated DMs triggered by interactions on age-restricted content.

What you can do

  1. Open the post or reel in incognito mode or while logged out of Instagram

  2. If you see “This content is age-restricted”, automations will not work on that post

  3. Review the content for triggers such as music, visuals, captions, or keywords

  4. Avoid posting age-restricted content on posts where you plan to run automations

  5. Recreate the post without triggering elements before attaching automation
